The successful director-writer duo, Shoojit Sircar & Juhi Chaturvedi’s latest collaboration October has got failed to make the desired impact. Being a non-masala flick with a thin line subject, it strictly targets the multiplex going audience and this is why it is showing under expected performance at the box office.
The unusual romantic drama October starring the mass favorite actor Varun Dhawan and the debutante Banita Sandhu in lead roles. Undoubtedly both the actors have acted brilliantly and are being appreciated by everyone. Actors’ performances are the major reasons, that the movie has received critical acclaim despite slow screenplay.
Shoojit Sircar’s directorial took a slow start across India but managed to register decent opening of 5.04 crores at the box office on Friday. Due to favorable words, it showed healthy growth over the weekend and did the business of 7.47 crores on Saturday and 7.74 crores on Sunday.
After the weekend, October had recorded the total collection of 20.25 crores from 1683 screens across the country. Now it is running on weekdays and as usual, getting lower footfalls in theaters than before due to normal working days.
On Monday, the movie faced a drop of 46.4% than Friday and minted the amount of 2.70 crores. Then on the next day i.e. Tuesday, with a further decline, it garnered the business of 2.61 crores and raised the 5 days total collection to 25.56 crores at the domestic box office.
