Last Friday released, the first-ever collaboration of ace filmmaker Shoojit Sircar and Bollywood young superstar Varun Dhawan, October has completed its opening week on a decent note despite a slow start. The film received critics acclaim and mostly positive reviews from the multiplex going audience.

Starring Varun Dhawan and the debutante Banita Sandhu starrer October is an unconventional romantic drama with thin line subject. It strictly targets multiplex audience and fortunately, got positive remarks from them for the performances by the actors and the heartwarming story.

Due to very low support from the single screens, the film opened on a slow note but still managed to register the business of 5.04 crores. With healthy growth over the weekend, it bagged the amount of 7.47 crores on Saturday and 7.74 crores on Sunday. After the 3 days, its total collection was recorded 20.25 crores from 1683 screens.

Then on weekdays, October witnessed an abrupt drop in footfalls but successfully maintained a steady pace throughout. On Monday, it minted the amount of 2.70 crores after a drop of approx. 46.4% than Friday. On an almost similar note, the film raked the business of 2.61 crores on Tuesday and 2.43 crores on Wednesday.

On the next day i.e. Thursday, Varun-Banita starrer faced slight more decline and collected the amount of 2.25 crores. With this, the total collection of October after a week has become 30.24 crores at the domestic box office. Shoojit Sircar’s directorial still has a chance to show its potential in the second week because no big film is being released.
