Padmaavat 15th Day Box Office Collection, Earns 236 Crores Total in 2 Weeks from India

By dominating the lifetime total of Deepika Padukone’s Chennai Express (227.13 crores) within 14 days of release, recently released epic period drama Padmaavat has emerged as her highest grosser. Also with the end of its second week, the film has surpassed the lifetime total of Salman Khan’s Kick (231.85 crores) and emerged 9th highest grosser of all time in Hindi cinema.

Directed by the ace storyteller Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Padmaavat was released last month after numerous protests. Because of controversies, it gained huge hype among the audience and as a result, getting solid performance at the box office worldwide.

Alongside Deepika, Viacom 18 Motion Pictures’ presentation stars Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor in lead roles. All the actors have given outstanding performances and received huge appreciation from everyone.

After an excellent opening, the film remained strong throughout the 8-days extended first week due to positive word of mouth and did the business of 166.50 crores that included 114 crores of 4-days weekend and 52.50 crores of weekdays.

In the second weekend as well, Padmaavat showed superb performance and raked the business of 46 crores that included 10 crores of Friday, 16 crores of Saturday and 20 crores of Sunday. Then in weekdays, it witnessed usual drops but still remained steady.

On 2nd Monday, Deepika-Ranveer-Shahid starrer faced a drop of 30% than Friday and minted the amount of 7 crores. With further dips, it collected the amount of 6 crores on 2nd Tuesday and 5.50 crores on 2nd Wednesday.

On the next day i.e. 3rd Thursday, Padmaavat bagged the amount of 5 crores and raised its 2 weeks total collection to 236 crores at the domestic box office. From the next week, it will have Akshay Kumar’s highly anticipated PadMan in the opposite.
