Padmaavat (Padmavati) 1st Day Box Office Collection, Takes Ranveer & Shahid’s Best Opening

The very much awaited Padmaavat has been released on Thursday with good buzz among audience and as expected opened to an excellent note despite challenges because of protests against it. In ideal conditions, Deepika Padukone-Ranveer Singh-Shahid Kapoor starrer could open massively but threats and controversies are playing spoilsport.

Since after the special screenings and paid previews, filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s this magnum opus is getting positive reviews from entire Bollywood, critics and audience as well. As a result, it got released with ready-made positive word of mouth and registered the best opening of leading stars Ranveer and Shahid’s career.

As per mostly critics, Padmaavat is a masterpiece with superb visuals and outstanding performances given by all the actors. Bhansali is also being praised by everyone for making such great film. Audience have also found it very interesting and their favorable words are working as a healer.

On the opening day, this epic drama opened to an excellent note with 40-50% of occupancy across the country excluding Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan where the film hasn’t released. With overall 55-60% of occupancy, Padmaavat has raked the opening business of 19 crores which is terrific respect to the conditions.

On Wednesday with it’s paid-previews that were commenced in evening, Viacom 18 Motion Pictures’ presentation garnered the business of 5 crores. Including this, the total opening day collection of Padmaavat has become 24 crores. Now due to holiday of Republic Day, Saturday is expected to witness good growth in footfalls.
