Superstar Akshay Kumar’s highly anticipated film PadMan is all set to take over the box office from Friday, 9 February. The previous major Hindi release, Padmaavat still has a good hold over the audience though, but that doesn’t seem like a hurdle in the journey of this content driven film directed by R.Balki.
Besides a solid star power and full-fledged promotions, PadMan has a content that attracts everyone. It is inspired by the life of Tamil Nadu based social activist Arunachalam Muruganantham, who revolutionized the concept of menstrual hygiene in rural India by providing low-cost sanitary pads to women.
The makers have successfully created the desired hype for the film among the audience and before its release entire India has started discussing the taboo – periods openly. After the superhit Toilet Ek Prem Katha, PadMan is another film by Akshay that dares to change the age-old thinking of our society, and this makes it highly anticipated.
Produced by Twinkle Khanna (Mrs Funnybones Movies) in association with KriArj Entertainment, Columbia Pictures, Cape of Good Films and Hope Productions, PadMan is releasing over 2750 screens across India and approx. 600 in overseas.
With such good screen count and high buzz, the film can positively open in a range of 13-15 crores at the domestic box office. PadMan will remain strong in weekdays as well if it gets succeed to gain positive word of mouth.
