‘Phantom’ 2nd Day Collection: Minted 8.46 Cr on Day 1; takes Jump on Day 2

This Friday released new Bollywood action-thriller movie Phantom has opened up with decent collection figure at box office. On the opening day, it started with an average occupancy for morning shows but recorded good increment from evening shows. The movie was minted 8.46 crores as its first day collection from 2600 Indian screens. The good thing is, it received positive reviews from audience as well as critics that resulted out in higher business on Saturday.

Phantom is based on the terrorist attacks of 26/11 in Mumbai and adapted from the book Mumbai Avengers written by Hussain Zaidi. It is the second directorial movie of Kabir Khan of the year after Bajrangi Bhaijaan, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala & Siddharth Ror Kapur under the banners Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment & UTV Motion Pictures.

Movie features Katrina Kaif and Saif Ali Khan in lead roles which attracts audience as both stars having high fan following. Before its release, Phantom was expected to start with excellent figure at box office. In UAE, it was made 1.19 crore as first day collection on 62 screens but in India it was recorded overall occupancy of 50% and minted 8.46 crores.

On Saturday being weekend and also holiday on the occasion of Hindu festival Raksha Bandhan, Phantom witnessed a high rise in its business graph. Recorded higher occupancy than Friday and minted near about 12.78 crores as its second day collection. Now here is the main day of weekend i.e. Sunday, which is expected to be resulted in more growth.
