Kabir Khan directorial last week released thriller movie Phantom is now just crawling at box office. It showed commendable performance in its first weekend but after that, it started loosing its pace with very high rate. The movie was expected to get better at box office, also it started good but faced abrupt drop in its business graph after the first weekend. And now after the release of Welcome Back that registered the third highest opening of year 2015 in Bollywood, it is not possible for Phantom to retain its pace.
Katrina Kaif & Saif Ali Khan starrer Phantom was released on approx. 2600 screens in India and has done the business of total 47.40 crores in first week, that includes 33.18 crores of weekend and 14.22 crores of weekdays. The week total is not bad but it could collect more better than this, as we all were expecting before. Well now the movie has been entered in its second week and facing trouble due to the new release Welcome Back.
After collecting 2.88 crores as its 7th day collection, Phantom was recorded very less occupancy on its second Friday. It was minted only 0.93 crore as its 8th day collection with a drop of almost 70% than previous day. On Saturday being weekend and also the holiday, it showed little rise in business and collected the amount of 1.37 crore*. Phantom has started its second Sunday with almost similar occupancy as last day and its today’s collection is estimated near about 2.20 crores*.
