Directed by the debut director of Bollywood film industry Vikas Bahl, ‘Queen‘, a typical drama filled with essence of romance and comedy along with emotions, came out 2 weeks back on March 7th along with much hyped & publicized Madhuri Dixi and Juhi Chawla’s gritty hinterland drama ‘Gulaab Gang‘ and Yami Gautam and Ali Zafar’s romantic comedy ‘Total Siyapaa‘. Among all these three releases, Gulab Gang was expected to win the race and Queen seemed lagging behind in the start off days. But later in the week, Queen started making superb performance and Kangana Ranaut was being appreciated for her acting and character in this flick. Rajesh Thadani of Multimedia Combines summed up the films’ performances:”‘Queen’ is doing an outstanding business and it’s still going houseful in many theaters. Though ‘Bewakoofiyaan‘ released this Friday, yet the business of ‘Queen’ has not been affected.” It seems that Queens reigns at the box office even after so much competition from other releases on box office.
Queen Overall Box Office Collection
Opened up with a very lukewarm response, Queen has shown a phenomenal growth in its business in the later days. Among the three new releases, the Kangana Ranaut starrer has turned out to be the biggest money spinner at the Indian Box Office even till now. With its brilliant collection in 13 days, the film has topped the domestic chart, pushing Gulab Gang and Total Siyapaa down to the second and third places respectively. Seven the latest release Bewakoofiyaan could not affect it much. 13 Days total Box Office Collection of Queen is expected to be around 1.5 Crores making its 13 Days Total Box Office Business to stand around 25 Crores. The movie, which has been made with a shoe-string budget, has recovered its production cost and earned a decent share of profit for its makers in the first seven days already. Inspired by Kangana Ranaut’s performance, trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “Queen is going from strength to strength not just in India but also in international markets. It is witnessing massive jump everywhere.”
