The latest offering of supremely talented Ranbir Kapoor, Sanju is smoothly heading toward the mark of 300-crore. By showing exceptional performance from the very first day of release at the box office, it has now surpassed the lifetime total collection of blockbuster Dhoom 3 (284.27 crores) within just 13 days of release.
Directed by the ace filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani, this biographical drama based on the life of Indian actor Sanjay Dutt is getting huge appreciation from everyone. For its engaging story-line and proficient direction, the movie has received very positive reviews from the critics.
Being highly anticipated movie of the year, Sanju took a record opening and by remaining super-strong throughout the first week, it did the business of 202.51 crores, that included 120.06 crores of the weekend and 82.45 crores of weekdays from 4000 screens across India.
Then in the second weekend as well, Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s production maintained a solid pace and registered the impressive business of 62.97 crores with 12.90 crores on 2nd Friday, 22.02 crores on 2nd Saturday, and 28.05 crores on 2nd Sunday.
Now Fox Star Studios’ presentation is running on weekdays and still has a strong hold over the audience. On 2nd Monday, it faced a drop of approx. 28.30% than Friday and did the business of 9.25 crores. With a further dip, Dutt biopic minted the amount of 8 crores on 2nd Tuesday.
On the next day i.e. 2nd Wednesday, following the same trend, Sanju garnered the business of 6.60 crores and raised its 13 days total collection to 289.33 crores nett (370.93 crores gross). With this, it has become the 8th highest grosser of all time in Hindi cinema.
