The new offering of ace filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani, Sanju is in cinemas now and as expected got succeed to impress viewers across the country. Based on the life of Indian actor Sanjay Dutt, this biographical drama has opened on a bumper note and registered the highest opening of the year so far by beating the record of Salman Khan’s Race 3.
Starring the very talented Ranbir Kapoor in lead role, along with Paresh Rawal, Manisha Koirala, Dia Mirza, Sonam Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, and Vicky Kaushal in pivotal roles, Sanju relies on the brilliant performances by all the actors and the proficient direction of Rajkumar Hirani.
Produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Rajkumar Hirani himself, Dutt Biopic is receiving mostly positive reviews from the critics as well as the audience. As a result, it has gained a strong word of mouth which helped the movie to score big numbers at the box office on Friday.
On the very first day, Fox Star Studios’ presentation took a blockbuster opening with 80-85% of occupancy in morning and remained strong over the evening and night shows. With almost similar response on single as well as multi-screen cinemas, the movie has registered the opening business of 34.75 crores nett from 4000 screens across India.
With this, Sanju is now the highest opener of the year so far at the Indian box office by breaking the record of Avengers Infinity War (31.30 crores) and Race 3 (29.17 crores). As per current trend, it seems to remain super strong throughout the opening weekend.
