One of the two major releases of this Independence Day, Satyameva Jayate has got succeed to hit the target right and entertaining most of the viewers across the country. Being the much-awaited Hindi offering of the year, it opened on an excellent note and heading well despite a big drop.
Starring John Abraham in a lead role along with Manoj Bajpayee & debutante Aisha Sharma, Satyameva Jayate has received mixed reviews from the critics but still pulling the major audience toward theaters. Being a mass entertainer, it is getting an amazing response on single screens.
Directed by Milap Milan Zaveri, this vigilante action thriller was released on Wednesday amid the high excitement of fans and registered the fifth highest opening of the year so far in Hindi cinema with 20.52 crores. With such a strong opening, it has become the biggest opener of John’s career and 29th best of all time.
On Thursday, due to normal working mid-week day, the movie recorded a big drop of 64.40% and did the did the business of 7.92 crores. Then on Friday, Satyameva Jayate witnessed a limited growth of 16% in footfalls and minted the amount of 9.18 crores.
On the next day i.e. Saturday, T-Series’ presentation remained almost similar to the previous day and garnered the business of 9.03 crores. With this, the total collection of SMJ after 4 days has become 46.65 crores nett at the domestic box office.
