Shankar’s “I” First Week Total Collection Report: 7th Day Business

‘I’ 1 Week Performance

After creating a whole atmosphere of high hopes and expectations on the basis of critic’s reviews and pre release audience response, the buzzed Tamil movie I is finally over with its first week on big screens today. Though the film was in hypes to set new records at the south Indian film industry but the people had not shown record breaking interest in the movie especially in the northern region where it released in Hindi and got above average response. It made overall outstanding performance especially in the earlier days of the first week which resulted in overall high collections of the film in total 1 week time.

First week business done by I is quite good but the after weekdays did not support the film to make any satisfactory increment in the grand total. Anyhow total 1 week income is quite impressive. Including the 7th day means today’s performance the total one week figures of the film are positive.

I Movie Thursday Box Office Collection

Movie had the great start over the box office as the film was released on favorable time with festival and weekend. Total 1 week box office collection of I is around 58.7 Crores* in India (Tamil & Hindi version) with seventh day i.e. Thursday business of around 5.1 Crores*. It showed nice growth in the earlier days but then weekdays snatched part of its occupancy and response resulting in lower income.

Not so high competition in its dominated regions has contributed decent income but in northern part, most of the screens were taken off by Alone & Tevar which both are running normally. Audience and critics felt the film much entertaining and different with its story. As the film released 2 days before the weekend hence this will again affect its performance in the coming days.
