After an excellent opening week, the Horror comedy Stree has passed its second week as well on a solid note and now all set to join the 100-crore club by the third weekend. Within 2 weeks of release, the movie has achieved the tag of superhit and get listed among top 10 highest grossing Hindi movies of the year so far.
Directed by Amar Kaushik, Stree has impressed many with its interesting & unusual story-line. It has received mostly positive reviews from the critics as well as the audience across India and gained a solid word of mouth. As a result, it showed terrific performance so far at the box office.
Dinesh Vijan’s production opened on a surprising note and showed solid uptrend over the opening weekend. By remaining rock-steady throughout the first week, it registered the business of 60.39 crores with 32.27 crores on the weekend and 28.12 crores on weekdays from 1950 screens.
In the second weekend as well, Shraddha Kapoor & Rajkummar Rao starrer maintained a very good pace and did the business of 21.90 crores that included 4.39 crores on 2nd Friday, 7.63 crores on 2nd Saturday & 9.88 crores on 2nd Sunday from 1770 Screens.
Then on weekdays, despite a usual drop in footfalls, Stree minted the amount of 3.31 crores on 2nd Monday, 3.22 crores on 2nd Tuesday & 2.95 crores on 2nd Wednesday. On the next day i.e. 2nd Thursday, the movie garnered the business of 3.76 crores due to Ganesh Chaturthi and raised its 2 weeks total collection to 95.53 crores at the domestic box office.
