After the two excellent weeks, Hindi horror comedy Stree has passed its third week as well on a solid note and become the 6th highest grossing Hindi movie of the year so far by surpassing Gold & Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety. Now from the next week, it will have much-buzzed Batti Gul Meter Chalu, Manto & Ishqeria in parallel.
Directed by Amar Kaushik, Stree has got succeed to hit the target right with its unusual & interesting story-line. As a result, it has received mostly positive reviews from the critics as well as the audience. By remaining strong throughout the first week, the movie registered the business of 60.39 crores from 1950 screens.
In the second week as well, it maintained a very good pace and did the business of 35.14 crores from 1770 screens nationwide. Then in the third week, Dinesh Vijan’s production had a solid weekend and raked the business of 10.65 crores that included 2.14 crores on 3rd Friday, 3.76 crores on 3rd Saturday & 4.75 crores on 3rd Sunday.
On weekdays, despite a usual drop in footfalls, Stree managed to stay steady across the country. On 3rd Monday, it faced a drop of 43.10% than the previous day and minted the amount of 1.87 crores. With a further dip, the movie bagged 1.60 crores on 3rd Tuesday & 1.42 crores on 3rd Wednesday.
On the next day i.e. 3rd Thursday, Shraddha Kapoor & Rajkummar Rao starrer collected the amount of 1.60 crores and raised 3 weeks total collection to 112.67 crores nett (144.45 crores gross) at the domestic box office. It seems capable to go past Alia Bhatt’s Raazi (123.84 crores) by the fourth week.
