The new Hindi release Stree showed superb performance over the opening weekend despite having Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se and existing offerings in its opposite. Since its release, this horror comedy is getting way higher response than the madcap comedy which is backed by the popular franchise.
Directed by Amar Kaushik, Stree is starring Shraddha Kapoor & Rajkummar Rao in lead roles and got succeed to impress most of the critics as well as the audience across the country. As a result, it gained solid word of mouth and registered the opening business of 6.83 crores on Friday.
After a superb opening day, on Saturday, the movie witnessed a healthy growth and registered the business of 10.87 crores. Then on Sunday, with a further jump, it collected the amount of 14.57 crores. After the weekend, the total collection of Stree has become 32.27 crores nett.
On the other hand, Dharmendra, Sunny Deol & Bobby Deol starrer Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se has received mixed reviews from the critics as well as the audience and got badly affected by the clash with Stree. On Friday, with a very low start, it did the business of 1.82 crores.
On Saturday, YPD Phir Se didn’t witness considerable jump and minted the amount of 1.98 crores. On Sunday, it recorded a decent jump and raked the business of 3.02 crores. After 3 days, the total collection of Navaniat Singh’s directorial has become 6.82 crores.
