Shraddha Kapoor & Rajkummar Rao starrer horror comedy Stree is doing very well at the box office since its release despite having much-buzzed Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se in the opposite. After an excellent opening weekend, it is heading strongly on weekdays as well and has already become hit.
Produced by Dinesh Vijan under the banner Maddock Films, Stree is based on an unusual plot but still, it got succeed to hit the target right and impressed everyone. For its interesting story-line and commendable performances of all the actors, the movie has received positive reviews from the critics as well as the audience.
In the opening weekend, Amar Kaushik’s directorial did the business of 32.27 crores that included 6.83 crores on Friday, 10.87 crores on Saturday & 14.57 crores on Sunday. Now it is running on weekdays and still has a good hold over the audience across the nation.
On Monday, Stree raked the business of 9.70 crores due to Janmashtami holiday. Then on Tuesday, with a considerable drop, it managed to collect 6.37 crores. On the next day i.e. Wednesday, the movie bagged 6.55 crores and raised its 6 days total collection to 54.89 crores nett from 1800 screens.
On the other hand, the third installment of the popular comedy franchise Yamla Pagla Deewana has got failed to entertain the viewers and received mixed reactions. In the first weekend, it registered the business of only 6.82 crores with 1.82 crores on Friday, 1.98 crores on Saturday, and 3.02 crores on Sunday.
On Monday, Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se faced a considerable drop and did the business of 1.50 crores. With a further drop, it minted the amount of 1.25 crores on Tuesday and 1 crore on Wednesday. After 6 days, the total collection of YPD Phir Se has become 10.57 crores nett.
