Despite mixed reactions, Karan Johar’s latest production Student Of The Year 2 has registered a good business in the opening weekend, although it didn’t witness the expected jump in footfalls over Saturday & Sunday. Now it has entered on weekdays and managed to pass Monday at a decent note at the box office.
Punit Malhotra’s directorial stars Tiger Shroff along with debutantes Tara Sutaria & Ananya Panday in lead roles who have performed very well in the film and getting huge appreciations from everyone. Still, it has received mixed reviews from the critics as well as the audience across India.
On Friday, Student Of The Year 2 took an average start in the morning with 20-25% occupancy and eventually registered the 5th highest opening of the year so far in Hindi cinema with 12.06 crores. With which, it has also become the second best opener of Tiger Shroff.
Over the weekend, it recorded limited growth in footfalls and bagged the amount of 14.02 crores on Saturday & 12.75 crores on Sunday. After 3 days, the total collection of SOTY 2 was recorded at 38.83 crores nett. On Monday, the film faced a drop of 54.23% than Friday and minted 5.52 crores.
After 4 days, the total collection of Student Of The Year 2 has become 44.35 crores nett at the domestic box office from 3100 screens. The 2nd installment in the franchise begun in 2012 with Student Of The Year has to remain steady in weekdays to get the desired results.
