Sui Dhaaga and Pataakha 1st Day Box Office Collection Prediction Report

Again there is a clash between two Hindi films this week, director Sharat Katariya’s romantic comedy-drama Sui Dhaaga and Vishal Bhardwaj’s unconventional comedy-drama Pataakha are all set to release at the box office on Friday. Undoubtedly, the former one has higher hype among the audience, but ultimately both the offerings rely on word of mouth.

Backed by India’s one of the biggest production banners Yash Raj Films, Sui Dhaaga- Made in India is releasing on 2500 screens nationwide. Starring Varun Dhawan & Anushka Sharma in lead roles, the film has promoted on a large scale and as expected gained a solid initial buzz, but still, it can’t be expected to open strongly because of less commercial content.

Varun & Anushka are superstars and have high commercial value, but their recent offering is a content-driven film which depends on how the audience reacts. Going by the promos, Sui Dhaaga looks multiplex-friendly film, and the word of mouth will decide its fate at the box office.

As per the previous records & current reports, Aditya Chopra’s production could open in a range of 8-9 crores but it is not releasing solo and also there is a cricket match (Asia Cup 2018 Final) between India & Bangladesh on Sept 28, so it is expected to register the opening business of around 6-7 crores because of only slight growth in footfalls post noon shows.

The second Hindi release of this week, Pataakha stars Sanya Malhotra, Radhika Madan, Sunil Grover & Vijay Raaz. The film has definitely gained some buzz because of its unusual bold content but being rural-friendly it is restricted to the limited audience. This is why it doesn’t seem able to open above 1 crore, but can take a good jump over the weekend if it gets thumbs up from the viewers.
