Box Office Collection of Piku & TWMR

Typical drama filled with essence of romance and comedy along with emotions named Piku came out 4 weeks back on box office without nay competition & good word of mouth. Earlier it was expected that this mid budget movie might not be a good racer & end up soon. But later in the weeks, movie started making superb performance and Deepika Padukone received much appreciation for her performance.

Movie did an outstanding business and it’s still going on in some theaters. Now that the one month has been completed, total 1 month collection stands at approx. 79.20 crores* including the 3oth day collection of 0.25 crore*. Though Tanu Weds Manu Returns released 2 weeks back has been doing too well, yet the business of Piku has not been affected to worse.

It seems that Piku rules at the box office even after so much competition from other releases on box office.

On the brighter side TWMR opened up with again good response and has shown decent growth in its business again in this weekend. Among the new releases, the Kangana Ranaut starrer movie has turned out to be the biggest money spinner at the Indian box office even till now. With its brilliant collection in 16 days, the movie has topped the domestic chart, pushing rest of the biggies of 2015 down to the second and third places respectively.

Even the latest releases like Welcome 2 Karachi, Ishqedarriyaan could not affect it in any way. 16 days total box office collection of TWMR is very high and the 16th day in itself has resulted in collection of 4.18 crores. Movie, which has been made with a shoe-string budget, has recovered its production cost and earned a too high share of profit for its makers in the first 2 weeks already.

Inspired by Kangana Ranaut’s performance, trade analyst tweeted that movie is going from strength to strength not just in India but also in international markets. It is witnessing massive jump everywhere and will continue so in coming days.
