Last weekend witnessed much of a great performance. We are talking about Kangana Ranaut starrer Tanu Weds Manu Returns which was one of the eagerly awaited movies which has been making tremendous collections on the box office cash registers each day. Movie launched on solo screens so there was nothing to lock its horns with except Piku. Total second Friday collection stands high with 6.65 Crores which is nothing less than amazing.

Movie collected the highest grossing one week collection of this year so far by collecting 70.05 Crores; beating all other biggies- Baby (63.82 Cr), Gabbar Is Back (60.01 Cr) & Piku (41.42 Cr).

It looks as if the movies have been defeated in the race by this new comedy blaster. If we peep into the pre release audience response then TWMR was riding high on the buzz & hypes but when it came to the actual performance then TWMR showed manifold excellent graph & entertained all of the audience. Due to its release other movies had to face the tough competition and resultantly it is still making impressive earning. Movie was based on the sequel of the love story in previous part showing a totally different side of the scene.

On the other hand Piku is coming out as commendable movie by still running no screens even after high competition & new releases. Everyone enjoyed watching their favorite stars in unique and different avatars but despite of all this appreciation, movie now these days could not make any remarkable income till date. Third Friday collection ended up today only at 45 Lacs.

Only it did reported nice first business in the three weeks but in fourth week it is facing even higher loss. Now there are less expectations being raised due to movies like TWMR & Welcome To Karachi running good in theaters. Today being 22nd day for Piku, it opened with little growth and decent occupancy in the cinema halls. If it does a good job in this weekend then it will be much like achieving everything possible for it.
