Thaanaa Serndha Koottam TSK & Sketch 1st Day Collection, Suriya Vs Chiyaan Vikram

The new Pongal offerings from Tamil cinema- Thaana Serndha Koottam (TSK) and Sketch have been released on Friday and as expected opened to an excellent note. Alongside them, there is one more Tamil film which is sharing the date titled Gulaebaghavali.

Superstar Suriya and Keerthy Suresh starrer heist film Thaana Serndha Koottam is the official remake of Akshay Kumar’s Hindi film Special 26 that was released in 2013. Directed by Vignesh Shivan, TSK is based on 1987’s Opera House heist.

Due to the great hype that makers set by promos, Thaana Serndha Koottam opened to an excellent note at box office and reported approx 70% of occupancy. Everyone liked the film and showing big thumbs up, as a result it gained good word of mouth.

By remaining strong throughout the opening day, Suriya starrer registered the business of 7.50 crores across Tamil Nadu. At global market too, the film showed terrific performance and grossed approx. 16.25 crores worldwide.

On the other hand, superstar Chiyaan Vikram and Tamannaah Bhatia starrer action thriller Sketch have also released with high buzz but got failed to impress viewers thoroughly and getting mixed reviews.

On Friday, Vijay Chander’s directorial started the journey on a lower note than TSK but good and garnered the business of 5 crores at Tamil Nadu box office. At international market, it has grossed approx. 10 crores.

While the Prabhu Deva and Hansika Motwani starrer action comedy Gulaebaghavali is also experiencing mixed response across Tamil Nadu and bagged the business of 2.75 crores in Tamil Nadu.
