After a tremendous opening week, last week released Hollywood offering The Lion King has passed the second week also at a super strong note. The holdover Super 30 is also heading strongly in its third week despite having a couple of new Hindi films in the opposite.
Directed by Jon Favreau, the live-action adaptation of 1994’s animated film has got succeed to entertain the Indian audience and gathered a positive word of mouth. As a result, it did the business of 81.57 crores in the first week that included 54.75 crores in the weekend and 26.82 crores on weekdays.
Then in the second weekend as well, The Lion King had remained terrific and bagged the amount of 32.70 crores with 5.35 crores on Friday, 12.22 crores on Saturday & 15.13 crores on Sunday. On 2nd Monday, after a normal drop in footfalls, it managed to collect 3.30 crores and raised 11 days total collection to 117.57 crores nett from all the versions.
On the other hand, Hrithik Roshan and Mrunal Thakur starrer Super 30 has impressed everyone and gained a solid word of mouth. As a result, it had raked the business of 113.71 crores in the last 2 weeks with 75.85 crores in the first & 37.86 crores in the second week.
In the third weekend, Vikas Bahl’s directorial biographical drama had maintained a solid pace and garnered 12.22 crores that included 2.14 crores on Friday, 4.47 crores on Saturday & 5.61 crores on Sunday. On 3rd Monday, after a normal drop, Super 30 has scored 1.45 crore on board and raised 18 days total collection to 127.38 crores nett.
