After a couple of blockbuster weeks, Walt Disney Studios’ presentation The Lion King has started the third week at a decent note. Due to the release of much-awaited Hollywood offering Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw, it has witnessed a significant drop in footfalls but still has enough hold over the Indian audience in metros.
Directed by Jon Favreau, the live-action adaptation of 1994’s animated film has gathered a good word of mouth and did the business of 81.57 crores in the first week that included 54.75 crores in the weekend and 26.82 crores on weekdays. Then in the second week also, it had remained strong and raked 45.75 crores with 32.70 crores in the weekend and 13.05 crores on weekdays.
Now The Lion King has entered in the third week and started the weekend at a decent note. On 3rd Friday, it has witnessed a drop of 41.53% than the previous day and bagged the amount of 1.76 crores. With this, its 15 days total collection has become 129.08 crores nett from India including all the versions.
On the other hand, the existing Hindi offering Hrithik Roshan & Mrunal Thakur starrer Super 30 has received much appreciation from everyone and did the business of 131.65 crores in the last 3 weeks that included 75.85 crores in the first, 37.86 crores in the second & 17.94 crores in the third week.
Vikas Bahl’s directorial biographical drama has now entered in the fourth weekend at a decent note. On 4th Friday, it has faced a drop of 36.42% and minted the amount of 0.96 crore. After 22 days, the total collection of Super 30 has become 132.61 crores nett at the domestic box office.
