This Friday has witnessed a clutter between several Hindi films- Paltan, Laila Majnu & Gali Guleiyan and a Hollywood release The Nun. Being backed by the popular franchise, the English offering has opened on a solid note at the Indian box office and dominated all the Hindi ones released this week.
The new installment of the most popular American horror franchise The Conjuring, The Nun is directed by Corin Hardy and received mixed reviews from the critics. But still, it got succeed to divert major crowd toward itself in multiplexes across the country.
The Nun took a good start with an occupancy of 40% for the morning shows. After a fair growth in footfalls post noon shows, it registered the business of 8 crores nett, which is higher than the combined collection of all the Hindi films present at the box office.
On the other hand, JP Dutta’s directorial Hindi was drama Paltan has received mixed reviews from the critics and also got failed to attract enough audience toward theaters. On Friday, on an average note, it managed to collect the amount of only 1.28 crores.
While Sajid Ali’s directorial Laila Majnu has also witnessed very low occupancy on the opening day with mixed reviews and raked the business of 0.45 crore. Manoj Bajpayee’s non-commercial Gali Guleiyan remained almost at the ground zero and minted the amount of 0.05 crore.
