Superstar Akshay Kumar is currently the hit machine of Bollywood, from a good time he is continuously giving hits and his last offering Jolly LLB 2 was the fourth consecutive successful venture in 13 months. Now the actor is coming back with another promising film Toilet Ek Prem Katha which has actress Bhumi Pednekar opposite to him in a lead role.
Directed by Shree Narayan Singh, TEPK is based on a relevant concept inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. It’s a satirical take on a battle against the age old tradition of open defecation in many rural parts of the country, with a quirky love story of Keshav & Jaya alongside.
Since the time when it’s announcement was made, Toilet Ek Prem Katha is strongly buzzing among fans as well as moviegoers. With the trailer and music, the film has made a good impression over the audience and now most of them are excitedly looking forward to it’s release.
Pre booking for TEPK is already started and the theaters are witnessing decent response on ticket windows. Also the promotions are going in full swing and created a good-enough hype of the film among audience. Under such favorable circumstances, it can be the one for which the entire industry is waiting from last four months.
Since Baahubali 2, all the highly anticipated Hindi films have got failed at box office, that include Salman Khan‘s Tubelight, Ranbir Kapoor’s Jagga Jasoos, Tiger Shroff’s Munna Michael and the last week’s Shahrukh Khan’s Jab Harry Met Sejal. So this upcoming one is a big hope for the industry. Let see will it break the dry spell of box office or not!
Akshay Kumar‘s last film Jolly LLB 2 was started it’s journey on a good note and did the opening business of 13.20 crores from 3500 screens across the country. Like the previous one, his latest offering is also a family drama and attracts major segment of audience. Also it won’t face any considerable competition from the last week’s biggie JHMS.
But still there is a big hurdle i.e. the current scenario of box office, which is quite weird and harder than ever before these days. So after considering all the facts and figures, the opening in range of 12-13 crores seems feasible for TEPK with approx. 3000 screens in India. The film can rake around 45 crores over the opening weekend, if it meets with the expectations of viewers.
