Salman Khan’s Sultan Total Collection
Superstar Salman Khan’s recent blockbuster movie Sultan has enjoyed phenomenal response from audience in its early weeks and remained strong till the end of its third week. Despite fresh releases it kept heading break free on box office and registered many records. Now it is the second highest grossing movie of Salman Khan so far and the third highest grossing movie of all time in Bollywood after PK and Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
In the 9-days opening week, Sultan reported exceptional occupancy through out and did the business of 229.16 crores. In the second week, it faced usual drop and raked the business of 48.80 crores. Then in the third week despite Rajinikanth’s much awaited Kabali, Ali Abbas Zafar’s directorial remained steady in north Indian regions and collected 15.84 crores.
In the fourth week it had new Hindi movie Dishoom in opposite, so it witnessed little higher drop than usual because the new one diverted some audience toward itself. Sultan managed to secure 4.43 crores in its fourth week. In the fifth week, it maintained a steady pace and did the business of 2.12 crores.
From the sixth week, Sultan had two new much awaited Hindi movies Rustom and Mohenjo Daro in opposite. So it witnessed abrupt fall in its occupancy and raked only 0.09 crore across the country. In the seventh week it reported the business of around 0.01 crore and made its 7 weeks (51-days) domestic total collection as 300.45 crores.
