Tubelight 3rd Day Collection, Salman Khan’s War Drama Earns Near 65 Crore in 1st Weekend

Superstar Salman Khan’s latest film Tubelight was released this Friday with huge excitement of fans as well as moviegoers, but recorded limited growth over the weekend at box office. Due to pre Eid time, it witnessed lower footfalls in theaters than expected as Salman’s Muslim fans were not able to watch the film during Ramzaan.

Unfortunately Tubelight received mixed reviews from critics, which also has affected it’s performance by little but considerable rate. Although most of the viewers liked the film and showing thumbs up. So as a result, it gained decent word of mouth and fetched good enough business in the opening weekend.

Directed by Kabir Khan, Tubelight started it’s journey with 21.15 crores of opening business across the country and emerged as the second highest opener of the year so far after Baahubali 2 Hindi (41 crores). On Saturday, despite being weekend it remained almost flat and minted 21.17 crores.

On the last day of weekend i.e. Sunday due to public holiday, the film recorded decent growth of 6% and garnered the business of 22.45 crores. With this, total opening weekend total collection of Tubelight has become 64.77 crores from 4350 screens at domestic box office.

The business that Salman Khan starrer has raked in first 3 days across India, is good enough pre Eid but disappointing for fans, as all were expecting it to enter in 100 crore club within the opening weekend. Now there is Eid on Monday, so the day can be resulted in the highest business of first 4 days for Tubelight.
