Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Diljit Dosanjh starrer Hindi crime thriller Udta Punjab, has passed its third weekend trial on a low note. The movie has been released with much hype among audience, that it gained because of its mess with censor board. Obviously makers faced a tough time, but perfectly cashed the benefits of that controversy on box office.

Udta Punjab has received positive reviews from most of the critics as well as audience, that generated positive buzz about it among rest audience and helped it rake good business in the opening week. It did the total business of 48.50 crores in the first week; with 33.80 crores of weekend and 14.70 crores of weekdays. After the weekend, it witnessed abrupt fall in its business graph but still managed to keep the pace decent.

In the second week, due to new releases it faced much struggle on box office and minted the amount of 9.02 crores with 6.10 crores of weekend and 2.92 crores of weekdays. After 2 weeks, total collection of Udta Punjab was recorded as 57.52 crores on domestic box office.

Now the movie is running in the third week and has just passed its third weekend on a low note. With more than 25% of drop than previous day, it raked the business of 0.50 crore on Friday. On Saturday, being weekend it reported slight growth in its occupancy and collected 0.70 crore as its 16th day collection.

On the last day of weekend i.e. Sunday, it witnessed little more rise in its business and added the amount of 0.85 crore to its account. This made the 17 days total of Udta Punjab on domestic box office as 59.57 crores. By the end of this week, the movie will easily cross the mark of 60 crores.
