‘Udta Punjab’ Emerges as 5th Highest Opening Weekend Grosser of 2016 so far!

This Friday released crime thriller Udta Punjab has taken an impressive start on box office and registered 5th highest opening of the year so far. Because of censor board controversy, the movie gained huge hype among audience and now getting complete benefit of it. Audience liked the movie and showing thumbs up for it. Also it has received very positive reviews from most of the critics as well as Bollywood celebrities.

The lead stars Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Diljit Dosanjh are being praised by everyone for given such brilliant performances in the movie. Due to initial buzz and positive word of mouth, Udta Punjab is actually flying on box office. Despite being leaked on internet before the release, it is witnessing amazing craze of audience in theaters.

On the opening day, the movie received the overall occupancy of 45% across the nation and minted the amount of 10.05 crores. With this it has become the 5th highest opening record of the year so far. Then on Saturday, being weekend and due to positive buzz it recorded decent growth in its business graph. Multiplexes audience contributed well on its second day and take the collection to 11.25 crores.

After 2 days, total collection of Udta Punjab was recorded as 21.30 crores on domestic box office. On the last day of weekend i.e. Sunday, being holiday the movie witnessed higher response than last 2 days and added the amount of 12.50 crores to its account. With this its total 3 days collection has become 33.80 crores, which is the 5th highest opening weekend collection so far in this year.
