‘Udta Punjab’ Maintains a Decent Pace in Weekdays!

Abhishek Chaubey’s directorial crime thriller ‘Udta Punjab’ has passed its opening weekend with an excellent performance. The movie has been released this Friday on around 2000 screens in India with good buzz among audience, which it gained due to censor board controversy. Despite being leaked on internet before the release, it has received amazing response in theaters and raked impressive business total first first 3 days across the country.

Udta Punjab deals with the problem of drug addiction in the youth of state Punjab. Audience liked the content and especially the acting of lead stars Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Diljit Dosanjh and Kareena Kapoor Khan. They all are being praised by everyone for giving such brilliant performances. It has also received very positive reviews from critics, which attracts more audience toward theaters.

On the opening day, Udta Punjab witnessed overall 45% of occupancy across India and minted the amount of 10.05 crores. With this, it has registered the 5th highest opening record so far in this year. Then on Saturday, being weekend it received slight rise in its business graph and raked the business of 11.25 crores. On the last day of weekend, the movie collected 12.50 crores and made its weekend total as 33.80 crores, which is the 5th highest opening weekend total registered by any movie so far in this year.

Now it has entered in weekdays and as expected getting lesser response than weekend. On Monday, it started the day with an average occupancy and witnesses decent response now. Udta Punjab seems to collect near about 4.50 crores on its 4th day with almost 55% of drop than Friday. At the end, the total domestic collection of the movie will become 38.30 crores.
