After a solid first week, Veere Di Wedding has entered on its second weekend with a maintained pace despite new releases. The female-buddy comedy film has received mixed reactions from the audience but still remained strong throughout the opening week and registered the 5th best week-1 collection of the year so far in Bollywood.

Despite being an ‘A’ certified Hindi film without any hero, Veere Di Wedding has left everyone surprised with its fantastic run at the box office. For the bold and fresh content, Shashank Ghosh’ directorial has received mostly positive reviews from the critics, which helped it to divert the major audience toward itself.

On a surprising note, Ekta Kapoor & Rhea Kapoor’s production opened terrifically and become the first heroine-centric Hindi film of all time to take a double-digit opening. It did the business of 36.52 crores on the weekend, that included 10.70 crores of Friday, 12.25 crores of Saturday, and 13.57 crores of Sunday.

Then on weekdays, by remaining strong it minted the amount of 6.04 crores on Monday, 5.47 crores on Tuesday, 4.87 crores on Wednesday, and 4.06 crores on Thursday. After a week, the total collection of Veere Di Wedding was recorded as 56.96 crores at the domestic box office from 2177 screens.

Now Sonam Kapoor – Kareena Kapoor starrer has stepped-in on the second weekend and still has a strong hold over the audience despite the new offerings Kaala & Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. On 2nd Friday, with a drop of 17%, it minted the amount of 3.37 crores and raised 8 days domestic total to 60.33 crores.
