The major Hindi release of this week, Veere Di Wedding has passed the opening weekend on a fantastic note. By leaving everyone surprised, this female-buddy ‘A’ certified comedy has received a superb response from the audience across the country and also witnessed a healthy growth over Saturday and Sunday.
Despite bold and cuss words, Shashanka Ghosh’s directorial Veere Di Wedding has got succeed to divert major audience toward itself and set a new benchmark for upcoming heroine-centric Hindi films. For its entertaining story-line and solid performances by Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, Swara Bhaskar, and Shikha Talsania, the film has received mostly positive reviews.
On Friday, Ekta Kapoor’s production opened on a very good note and recorded fair growth in footfalls post noon shows. On an overall excellent note, it registered the 3rd best opening of the year in Hindi cinema with 10.70 crores. Then on Saturday, it took a growth of 14.5% and did the business of 12.25 crores.
On the next day i.e. Sunday, Veere Di Wedding showed further jump and raked the business of 13.57 crores. With this, its opening weekend total collection has become 36.52 crores at the domestic box office from 2177 screens.
Opposite to VDW, Harshvardhan Kapoor’s crime action thriller Bhavesh Joshi Superhero was also released at the box office this Friday but got failed to make an impact on the audience. It remained almost flat over the weekend and showed poor performance.
On the first day, it garnered the business of only 0.30 crore, while it was expected to open at a range of 1.50-2 crores. From the next day, Vikramaditya Motwane’s directorial witnessed slight growth in footfalls due to a weekend and minted the amount of 0.35 crore on Saturday & 0.35 crore on Sunday and raised its 3-days total collection to 1 crore.
