Puli Fifth Day Collection Report
Very much awaited latest action adventure movie ‘Puli’ from South Indian Cinema has failed to impress audience but still getting much support of fans and collecting decent figures at box office. The movie has released on 1st of October in Tamil, Telugu & Hindi languages worldwide on approx. 3500 screens that includes 400+ screens of Tamil Nadu & 200+ screens of Kerala.
Puli has received mixed reviews from critics as well as moviegoers. Due to pre-release hype, it was started good at box office but witnessed a weird drop in the performance after audience response. Earlier it was expected to perform like S.S. Rajamouli’s Baahubali but it is not performing even near to that. Puli has made with the production cost of 118 crores and integrated with high quality VFX but still got failed to entertain audience.
In Tamil Nadu, the movie was started with an excellent occupancy of 80% and opening collection of 10.75 crores. But as stated above, movie faced unexpected drops in its business. In next three day, it minted 19.75 crores that includes 7.50 crores of Friday, 6.25 crores of Saturday & 6 crores of Sunday. Puli ended the weekend on TN screens with total of 30.50 crores.
From Kerala, it has done the business of 3.87 crores that includes 1.75 crore of Thursday, 0.85 crore of Friday, 0.60 crore of Saturday & 0.67 crores of Sunday. As per sources, Puli grossed the amount of 2.84 crores from Chennai & 4.25 crores from Karnataka as weekend total.
Now it has entered in weekdays and as expected started facing heavy drops in its business. On Monday, Puli recorded the occupancy of only 30-40% in theaters of Tamil Nadu and raked the business of only 2.70 crores* as its fifth day collection. The movie has witnessed the drop of around 60% across the state and reported similar condition in other states too.
