Big B & Farhan’s Wazir Completes 1st Week on an Average Note
Ace filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s last Friday released emotional drama thriller film Wazir has completed its first week journey at box office on an average note. Being the first big release of the year, it was expected to do better but it hasn’t come out in that way. The film has received bit attention of audience initially but still not grossed any impressive business figures at the end of week. Wazir has received mixed reviews from critics as well as moviegoers across the country. But being Amitabh Bachchan and Farhan Akhtar starrer, their fans helped it a lot in weekend. The presence of these stars and their strong performances, are the only reason which attracts audience towards theaters.
In the opening weekend, Wazir did little well and raked the total business of 21.01 crores from Indian screens, that includes 5.57 crores of Friday, 7.16 crores of Saturday and 8.24 crores of Sunday. From overseas, it was reported the business of 10.48 crores till Sunday. In weekdays, asusual this one was also started facing low occupancy in theaters and minted low business figures.
In weekdays, Wazir has done the total business of 9.04 crores in India, that includes 2.55 crores of Monday, 2.28 crores of Tuesday, 1.88 crore of Wednesday and rest 2.33 crores of Thursday. Till the end of first week, total collection of the film is recorded as 30.05 crores. As per reports, it has raked the business of approx. 14.50 crores in one week from overseas screens. Now it has only one week to add few more crores to its accounts, as much awaited action thriller Airlift of superstar Akshay Kumar is getting released next week.
