Like a last couple of weeks, this one too will witness a clash between two Hindi movies- Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se & Stree. Both the offerings are comedies but based on completely different plots, one is a madcap comedy while the other is a horror comedy.
Directed by Navaniat Singh, Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se is the third installment from the successful franchise that was begun in 2011. It stars Dharmendra, Sunny Deol & Bobby Deol along with an addition to the original lead cast, Kriti Kharbanda.
YPD Phir Se is no doubt has a good buzz among fans and expected to open on a fair note. But as it is not releasing solo and will also face some competition from already existing Gold, Satyameva Jayate & Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi, the movie is expected to collect 4-5 crores on Friday, which is decent enough.
Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor & Pankaj Tripathi starrer Stree which is also set to release on 31 August 2018, has a good buzz among their fans. Directed by Amar Kaushik, it is based on an urban tale Nale Ba about a witch who knocks on people’s doors at night.
Because of the clash, this one too is expected to start on a decent note. Produced by Maddock films, Stree seems to open in a range of 3-4 crores which can be considered good enough due to its controlled budget of 20 crores.
