This Friday released two new Hindi comedy offerings Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se & Stree are showing unexpected results. The former one, which is backed by the popular franchise has opened on a low note, while the latter with an unusual plot took a solid start across the country.
Dharmendra, Sunny Deol & Bobby Deol starrer Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se is the third installment of franchise Yamla Pagla Deewana. Despite the high buzz, it opened on a very low note and also received mixed reviews from the critics as well as the audience.
On the first day, YPD Phir Se took a dull opening with an occupancy of 10% and registered the business only 1.82 crores by remaining almost flat throughout. On Saturday, it didn’t witness considerable jump and minted the amount of 1.98 crores. After 2 days, the total collection of the movie has become 3.80 crores.
On the other hand, Shraddha Kapoor & Rajkummar Rao starrer horror comedy Stree has got succeed to entertain the critics as well as the audience. On Friday, it opened on a superb note with an occupancy of 40% and raked the business of 6.83 crores after a good growth post noon shows.
On Saturday, due to a partial holiday, Amar Kaushik’s directorial recorded a considerable jump and bagged the amount of 10.87 crores. With this, the total collection of Stree after 2 days has become 17.70 crores nett at the domestic box office from 1500+ screens.
