After unveiling the poster with a disclaimer I’m not a CHICK flick, on April 25, makers of Veere Di Wedding launched its trailer at an event in Mumbai and on digital platforms. As touted, this one is actually not a chick flick, it is bold and kickass which revolves around four female buddies.
Going by the trailer, Veere Di Wedding looks unusual but crazy with full-on masala stuff. It seems a funfilled comedy-drama that attracts the major audience but co-producer Ekta Kapoor has her own sets of rules to make a women-centric film, so viewers will have to deal with cuss words.
Written by Nidhi Mehra & Mehul Suri, Veere Di Wedding is a story of four girlfriends who have their own crisis in life. Kareena Kapoor Khan (Kalindi) is getting married but doesn’t want to, while Sonam Kapoor (Avni) is struggling to maintain a relationship. Swara Bhaskar (Sakshi) is going through a divorce, while Shikha Talsania (Meera) is married and has a baby, but she also has a problem of her own.
For the first time, fans will see Kareena & Sonam using foul language on screen. All f-words are the result of their characters’ frustration because of the problems in relationships, so it is hard for the makers to remove them. But also it doesn’t seem possible for the film to get U/A certificate from CBFC without cuts.
Directed by Shashanka Ghosh, this female-buddy comedy also stars Sumeet Vyas as Kareena’s boyfriend. Produced by Rhea Kapoor, Nikhil Dwivedi, Ekta Kapoor & Shobha Kapoor, it is all set to hit the screens on 1 June 2018. Let see will it receive a desired response from the audience or not.
