Thor: Ragnarok, third installment of Marvel’s Action Series
Today Marvel Studios has confirmed the third installment of its action series Thor, titled as Thor: Ragnarok. As its prequels, the upcoming one is also featuring the Australian actor Chris Hemsworth for the lead role as the hammer-wielding super hero. As per the official announcement, the pre-production works for the movie will commence from in January 2016 & it will go on floor to shoot from June 2016 in Queensland, Australia.
“Queensland offers an amazing & diverse backdrop for ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ and we are very excited to bring this film to such an incredible locale. Marvel Studios would like to thank the Queensland Government for helping to make this a reality,” said Louis D’Esposito, Co-President of Marvel Studios.
Officials said, Thor: Ragnarok will be shot at various locations of Queensland including Village Roadshow Studios at the Gold Coast. Over 750 crew members will be appointed there while shooting & the budget of the movie is more than $100 millions AUD (approx. 470 crores INR).
The premier of Queensland Ms Annastacia Palaszczuk is very excited & thrilled with the confirmation, that Marvel’s next venture will be filming exclusively in their state. She said, “this is a huge win for Queensland”. “As our economy diversifies, Queensland is demonstrating its strength as a lead destination for filmmakers both internationally and locally, & my government is doing what it can to ensure that Queensland remains a global hub for the screen sector,” she added.
The first two installments of the series, Thor was released in year 2011 & Thor: The Dark World was released in 2013. Both movie had earned more than $1 billion USD at worldwide box office. The third one is being distributed by Walt Disney Studios & is scheduled to be released on 3rd November 2017 (US).
