Thalaiva’s 164th Film is Titled as Kaala
After the success of Kabali, superstar Rajinikanth once again coming back with the director Pa.Ranjith in his next. Presented by the production house of Dhanush, Wunderbar Films, Thalaiva’s 164th film is titled as Kaala, which is the contraction of his character’s name in it, Karikaalan.
As promised, on May 25 in morning Dhanush announced the title of his collaboration with father-in-law Rajinikanth, along with the teaser poster of the film, that the features it’s official logo. This has created huge buzz among fans and since then the hashtag #Kaala is trending on Twitter across the country.
Then at 6 pm, Dhanush shared the first look of Kaala, that includes two posters. One features wounded Rajinikanth in an angry avatar, while the next features him in his own signature pose with a roguish smile on face, sitting on bonnet of a jeep.
Reportedly, Kaala will go on floor from 28 May in Mumbai and Rajinikanth is playing a guy from Tirunelveli in it, who runs away to Mumbai in his childhood and becomes a powerful don living in the slums of Dharavi.
Earlier there were rumors that this Tamil film is based on the life of Haji Mastan, the Mumbai based smuggler who later became a reformer. But the production team denied it and issued a statement, “It is a film set in Mumbai and is a fictional story which is not based on any real people or events,”.
There is no official confirmation yet, but as per sources Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi will be seen opposite to Rajinikanth in the film, which also stars Samuthirakani. Kaala is set to release next year in summer in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu, after Thalaiva and Akshay Kumar‘s 2.0 which is scheduled for Republic Day 2018.
