From ‘Hello’ in 2008, to 3 Idiots in 2009 and ‘Kai Po Che’ last year, this time it is a romantic drama revolving around Ananya and Krish. Well, who would have not heard of Chetan Bhagat as one of the most dynamic writes India has ever produced. This youth icon is ready to inspire again the gen-y and the modern India. Chetan Bhagat’s movies are always something to learn from. Evolving from this great work by him, the film embodies all the essential ingredients for a perfect family drama and clashes. It showcases how still after more than 60 years of Independence, our culture still is against inter-caste marriages.

Chetan Bhagat has always made sure his work signals a message for the youth for he believes it is the youth who is going to create a new India. Chetan Bhagat graduate from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, and has his masters done from the Indian Institute of management, Ahemdabad.

The film star’s, Alia Bhatt as Ananya Swaminathan, and Arjun Kapoor ,as Krish Malhotra. This movie is quite a satire on the culture prevailing in modern India (or to be modern India may be). The film is about two youngsters studying in the Indian Institute Of Management, Ahemdabad, falling in love and their dramatic way to their marriage. Ananya and krish are from two different states and hence the title ‘2 States’. The adaption from the book is real good with brilliant newcomers.

While Ananya belongs to a tamilian family, krish belong to an orthodox Punjabi family. Both elegancy and smartness makes Krish fall in love with Ananya. In due course both decide to get married but wait, not without the approval from their families. And there it begins, the struggle for love. This was not any cream on the cake to be removed off easily. It all came with fights, tragedies, and of course humour. Non-readers of the book, watch it for the suspense and the sizzling chemistry between Alia and Arjun.

Chetan Bhagat has lot of expectations from this movie and we are sure it ould fair well on the box office. Like for instance after hearing the song he tweeted ‘Don’t know why, but this song made me cry when I watched it. The gorgeous “Mast Magan” video from 2 states’.

Chetan, even we have a lot of expectations from this movie. With the soothing music track directed by the trio Shankar, Ehsan and Loy this film has already hit the charts with its exceptional music. Directed by Abhishek Varman and produced by Karan Johar , this film is ready to make you sweep off your feet on 18th April.
