Critics Review: Purani Jeans
Talking about the new releases to come on box office, then we have two choices this Friday. First one is the youth starrer Purani Jeans which unfolds as a coming of age drama about a summer where Sidharth, his best friend Sam & their gang of friends rediscover bonds of friendship and love. A summer when everything changes for the group a summer when he, Sam & his friends experienced the agony & ecstasy of growing up, forming enviable bonds of friendship, trust, jealousy, joy, envy & love while also dealing with problems of distant parents, broken hearts and pressures of growing up gradually leading everyone to go their own way. It is a story that relates to the youth so there are chances that after the success of Yaariyaan, audience may give a positive touch to this movie also according to the critics. This is a coming-of-age film with one new face and two one-film old actors. The title is a metaphor for one’s oldest friends. As per the critics review for Purani Jeans, we come to know that critics have reviewed the film has an average entertainer capable of holding youth audience especially. Critics have given 2.5 stars for the film.
Critics Reviews: Kya Dilli Kya Lahore
Now the other film that is releasing simultaneously with Purani Jeans is the serious movie Kya Dilli Kya Lahore. Kya Dilli Kya Lahore is a satire on Indo-Pak relationship and narrates a humorous yet emotional story of a bond formed between an Indian and a Pakistani soldier stationed at the Indo Pak border. Veteran writer-lyricist Gulzar, the presenter of Vijay Raaz’s directorial debut “Kya Dilli Kya Lahore”, will also feature in the first promo of the film. As part of the promo, he will introduce the film, says producer Karan Arora. Critics have found the film quite interesting and up to truth but the fact is that they regard it has not a young generation material so this may prove to be a negative point as per their reviews.
On the whole, critics have different views regarding both movies as both are different in their own way. Where Purani Jeans is a friendship based young materialistic film on the other hand, Kya Dilli Kya Lahore is the satirical movie that will attract the mature audience and those viewers who like the serious contents in the films and performance based scripts.
Let’s wait until tomorrow to see how the audience reacts towards the movies and how well the critics reviews stands on the real performance of the films.
