Happy New Year is the third collaboration of Khan with the director; they previously worked on Main Hoon Na (2004) and Om Shanti Om (2007), and second collaboration of Deepika with the director as the latter of which also featured Padukone as the female lead. The film is third venture of Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone together and till now their 2 previous movies have been super hit of the Bollywood film industry.
