The south superstar Rajinikanth who is said to do anything now the actor will be seen in a dual avatar in his next film named Lingaa, where he plays a district collector as well as an unknown role in a flashback sequence. . The makers have kept it a secret,” confirms a source from the film’s unit. It has directed by K.S. Ravikumar and producer of the film is Rockline Venkatesh. Lingaa is the upcoming Kollywood industry film in which Rajinikanth plays a district collector in the present day of the story, while he will be seen in a different role in the flashback sequence. Reports reveal that this time Bollywood beauty Sonakshi Sinha is going to claim her charm on Kollywood industry by making debut in her first Tamil film and that too opposite such a super star like Rajini sir. Lead roles are being played by Rajinikanth and Sonakshi Sinha along with Vadivelu, Santhanam, Karunakaran, Jagapati Babu and many others. Music in the film has been given by the very talented and famed music director A.R. Rahman.

Earlier film was scheduled to hit the screens on 12th December 2014 but due to controversial issues as always experienced in his films for release dates; it got shifted to Christmas on 25 December 2014. As per the reports received, the latest date of release known for Rajinikanth starrer Lingaa is not again same i.e. 12 December 2014. It is a very high budgeted movie and will hit record breaking number of screens; it is releasing on 5000 screens worldwide.
