Superstar Ajay Devgn who is currently shooting for Rohit Shetty’s Golmaal Again, will start the shooting for his next titled Raid from September. The new one is reportedly set to go on floor after the release of actor’s forthcoming film Baadshaho, which is ready to hit screens on September 1.
Based on true incidents, the story of Raid is written by Ritesh Shah who also wrote critically acclaimed Pink. It will be set in Uttar Pradesh during 1980’s and revolve around most popular income tax raids in the country. In this thriller drama, Ajay will be seen as a strict income tax officer.
Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak under the banner of T-Series Films & Panorama Studios, Raid is directed by Raj Kumar Gupta and scheduled to be released next year on 20 April 2018.
Taking about the film, director Raj Kumar says, “Raid is a story that needs to be told on the big screen. I am looking forward to my collaboration with Ajay sir, Bhushanji, Kumarji and Abhishek on this film.”
Producer Bhushan Kumar (T-Series) who is also associated with Ajay Devgn’s Baadshaho, says about their next collaboration, “Ajay Devgn is a great actor. We have produced Baadshaho and are now happy to be also producing Raid. It is a content driven film and we are excited to produce it”.
Producer Abhishek Pathak (Panorama Studios) who already backed several content driven films like Special 26, Drishyam and Rustom, is excited for his new venture Raid and looking forward to their association with director Raj Kumar Gupta and once again with Ajay Devgn.
